Gibbs talks up Marsh talents

South African batsman Herschelle Gibbs has said that his Perth Scorchers team-mate Mitch Marsh has the potential of becoming one of the best all-rounders of the world.
Marsh scored the most runs (309) for the Scorchers in the recently concluded Big Bash League and he also had three wickets to his credit, while his economy rate of 8.16 runs per over was also quite decent.
The 20-year old all-rounder's fine performances in the BBL have earned him his first call-up to Australia's two-match T20 squad and he could also make his ODI debut in the third match of the upcoming Commonwealth Bank Series.
Gibbs, who was team-mates with superstar South African all-rounders Shaun Pollock and Jacques Kallis for a large part of his career, believes that Marsh has the kind of talent that is vital for success at the international stage.
In a recent interview, Gibbs said: "He's got all the ingredients to become a really good all-rounder. Once he gets a bit of experience as an international cricketer you'll start seeing how far he can go. He's got the ingredients, it's just how he's nurtured. He's got good experienced players around him and that will obviously help him."
"I just told him that if he can work on his rotation in his initial part of his innings he could adapt a lot quicker and improve his all-round ability. If he can do that, he's shown he can punish any sort of bowler at the back end of his innings," he added.
Australia are 1.61 to defeat India in the first T20 match while the tourists are 2.30 to get the win.
