One-day call-up for Forrest
January 30, 2012 13:24:54 UK
The Australian selectors have named Queensland Bulls batsman Peter Forrest in the ODI squad for the first three games of the triangular tournament with India and Sri Lanka.
Apart from Forrest, wicketkeeper Matthew Wade and all-rounders Daniel Christian and Mitchell Marsh have also been selected in the 14-man squad that is packed with a combination of both youth and experience. Mitchell Marsh's elder brother, Shaun, has been axed from the squad due to his poor form in the recent Test series against India.
Australia are 1.61 to defeat India in the first T20 match while the tourists are 2.30 to get the win.

National Selector John Inverarity said: "We want a flying start to the Commonwealth Bank Series against India and Sri Lanka and, as always, have selected a group we are confident can win while also keeping an eye on development for the future.
"Peter Forrest, Mitchell Marsh, Matthew Wade, Dan Christian and Clint McKay are in form and will have a chance to either prove or further prove themselves on the international stage.
“Brad Haddin has come off a heavy program of Test cricket - the workload for a wicketkeeper/batsman is rigourous and resting him for the start of the series will refresh him for coming international commitments while also giving us a chance to look at Matt Wade at this level."
