Glory facing major injury dilemma

Perth Glory coach Ian Ferguson has a major selection dilemma to deal with ahead of his team's Monday night encounter with Gold Coast United.

I've got no more left-sided players at the moment, we're down to the bare essentials.

The Glory haven't been beaten in their last seven league matches and if they are able to defeat the Glitter Strip Club in their upcoming match, then they could climb up to the second spot on the league table, provided that other results are in their favour too.
However, several of Ferguson's men are currently injured, which could make their clash with GCU a tough task than usual. The most problematic area is their defensive line-up as three of their key players - Josh Mitchell, Evan Berger and Todd Howarth - are certain to miss out.
Dean Heffernan has recovered from his knee injury, but it is unlikely that Ferguson will throw him back into A-League action straightaway without any preparatory youth league matches.
"I've got no more left-sided players at the moment, we're down to the bare essentials. We could have a couple of options with (central defender) Steve Pantelidis and so on, but I don't want to do that," Ferguson said.
"If Todd goes out it leaves me with no option, I may have to throw Heffernan in at the deep end. But if Todd's fit, I'll send Heffernan away with the youth team to get some game time.
"We'll give (Todd) every chance to be ready for Monday, I won't rule him out until the physio says," he added.
The Glory are 1.72 to win Monday night's game, with the draw 3.75 and Gold Coast 4.50.
