Sydney FC have announced that their manager Vitezslav Lavicka will be leaving the club at the end of the season.
Vitezslav Lavicka has been in charge of Sydney FC for three years. The decision to part ways was mutually agreed as both parties believed that it was time to move on after three years.
The Sky Blues have been disappointing in the league this season and the club board has finally lost its patience. Sydney chief executive Dirk Melton announced on Friday that the board wants to install a new manager due to the team's poor showings.
Sydney FC are 2.00 to beat Newcastle Jets, who themselves are 3.80 to get the win. A draw between the two sides can be backed at 3.40.
Lavicka also wants to move back to the Czech Republic due to family reasons, which is why his imminent divorce from the club is expected to be an amicable one.
"I have enjoyed my time at Sydney FC and I want to continue to do my best and work hard with the players and staff to be as successful as possible this season. But for next year I am living too far away from my family and they are very important," Lavicka said.
Under the Czech manager, Sydney won the 2009/10 A-League title but, after losing experienced players like Steve Corica (retired) and Alex Brosque (transfer), he failed to revive the club's fortunes.
