Wolves manager Mick McCarthy insists he is optimistic about his side's chances of avoiding relegation as he prepares for Saturday's crunch clash against QPR.
McCarthy's team sit in 19th place in the table, two points behind 17th-placed Bolton. They are now 1.001 to be relegated while Saturday's opponents QPR, who are three points above them, are at 3.25.

I know how quickly it can turn around. That's why I don't get too down and am always full of optimism.

Wolves are without a league win in nine games and were poor in midweek against Liverpool, losing 3-0. McCarthy moved to bolster his defence late on transfer deadline day, bringing in Sebastien Bassong on loan from Spurs, and is looking for a big improvement against Mark Hughes' side. They are at 3.80 to come away from Loftus Road with a win, and are 4.50 to keep a clean sheet.

"That (against Liverpool) was as bad a performance as we've had home or away. It was dire in the second half and fans expect better that that," said the Wolves boss.
"But I know fortunes can change so quickly. It happened to us last year on a number of occasions.
"We went to Bolton and it was like the end of the world and then we came here and beat Manchester United.
