Elliott looks for Ayr success

Gordon Elliott is a "don't miss trainer" every time he crosses the Irish Sea and sends three to Ayr this afternoon holding big chances of a treble.
He showed the stable is in good nick when sending out Face Value to win at snowy Wolverhampton on Saturday, predicting beforehand the step up in distance should see him run a nice race.
That was confirmed by a three-and-a-half length win, so he must have been annoyed that the meeting was abandoned before his Alubari had a chance to show himself in the claimer, having declared: "Hopefully he will run a decent race."

Mae's Choice (2.25 in the 1.30 at Ayr) has the look of a horse who will become a nice performer and looks to have in-form Lucinda Russell's facile Newcastle winner Lucia Bay (2.50) as her major threat.
Don't Back Down (3.75 in the 2.00) could complete the second leg and has Sydney Paget (1.50) to overcome. However, having dispensed with a Willie Mullins hotpot at Fairyhouse last time, the trainer will be fancying his chances.
Eight is My Number has Blenheim Brook and Lie Forrit as opposition in the 2.35 and is the outsider of the three having been well beaten by Blenheim at Perth last year.
However, in a race where tactics may well prove decisive, he's not to be entirely ruled out and wouldn't be travelling were he to have no chance.
