Elsworth cautious on Calgary Bay chances

Dominic Elsworth is refusing to declare impressive Calgary Bay a Grand National winner after his relentless victory over Shakalakaboomboom at Doncaster on Saturday.

He is a big horse and can clearly carry the weight. It's really not up to me to decide whether he is a Grand National horse.

With 'Shaka' appearing to be running all over the front-runner, Elsworth conjured a brilliant run out of the nine-year-old off 151 to win as he liked.
Barry Geraghty had been seriously keen on his chances aboard Shakalakaboomboom before the race and was always on the pace and going powerfully.
But he could do absolutely nothing about the winner's finishing burst as he went away - after stealthy progress from the back to finish up a a well-beaten runner up by an easy two-and-a-half lengths.
Calgary Bay is priced at 41.00 to emerge victorious in the showpiece Aintree event, with Shakalakaboomboom available at 17.00.

Elsworth, however, gave nothing away on the Aintree front when asked about the horse's likely chances.
The jockey said: "He is a big horse and can clearly carry the weight. It's really not up to me to decide whether he is a Grand National horse.
"But the tactics worked this afternoon as we came with a long run and I have to say he put up a very good performance."
