Kim Clijsters continued her defence of her Australian Open crown with a straight sets win over Daniela Hantuchova on Friday.
The 11th seed admitted she hadn't been at her best against Hantuchova, who broke her serve twice, but battled her way to a 6-3 6-2 victory and could play last year's beaten finalist Li Na next if the Chinese defeats Anabel Medina Garrigues.
"I wasn't playing my best tennis but I fought all the way," said the Belgian, who is 4.00 to successfully defend her title.
"I just tried to do my best out there."

World number one Caroline Wozniacki, who is 1213.00 to win the tournament, was in imperious form as she saw off Monica Niculescu 6-2 6-2.
The number one seed advances to the fourth round not having dropped a set and is determined to keep getting better as she goes in search of her first Grand Slam title.
"I want to try to do my best here and whatever happens, happens," said the 21-year-old.
"I have proven myself for the last two years. I have finished number one twice in a row, and for me the most important thing is to keep on improving."
