Russell Westbrook was two assists short of a triple-double as Oklahoma City needed overtime to beat the Portland Trailblazers 111-107.
The former UCLA star had 28 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists and Kevin Durant chipped in with a team-high 33 points as the Thunder increased their record to an NBA best 19-5.
There were also wins for fellow Western Conference division leaders the Los Angeles Clippers and the San Antonio Spurs.
The Clips also needed overtime to beat the Orlando Magic on the road, losing Chauncey Billups to a possible season-ending injury along the way, while the Spurs outscored the Memphis Grizzlies 22-11 in the final quarter to take an 89-84 win for their fifth consecutive triumph.
The Thunder are 2.25 to win the Western Conference, with the Clippers 251.00 and the Spurs 1.62.
The Sacramento Kings travelled to New Orleans and knocked off the Hornets 100-92.
Demarcus Cousins had 28 points and Tyreke Evans added a further 20 as the Kings picked up their third straight while sending the Hornets to 4-21 on the season.
Also winning on the road were the Houston Rockets who went into Denver and surprised the Nuggets 99-90.
